Meet Trace Medical’s Dialysis Support Team: Trevor Galuardi and Christopher Morris
Two men in suit jackets and white shirts on a blue background
At Trace Medical, our Dialysis Division pairs clinical know‑how with flexible equipment solutions so providers can grow home dialysis programs without the heavy upfront costs traditionally associated with capital equipment. Our approach emphasizes true partnership and the latest technology; providing trusted biomedical services, advocating for customers, and creating options that fit both clinical and economic realities.
Meet Trevor Galuardi, VP of Dialysis Technology
1. BASIC INFO
Name: Trevor Galuardi
Job Title: VP, Dialysis Technology
Territory/Region You Support: National
How long have you been with Trace Medical? 2 months
Years of experience in healthcare/sales/support services: 10 years
2. YOUR ROLE AT TRACE
In a few sentences, how would you describe your role to someone outside the industry?
I facilitate device choice for home dialysis. Today, there is essentially one device option for peritoneal dialysis and one for home hemodialysis, and my team is changing that through manufacturer partnerships as they obtain their 510(k) approvals.
What types of providers or facilities do you typically work with?
Renting devices as opposed to owning or leasing them makes economic (net present value) sense at any scale, and so I have customers as small as a few home hemodialysis patients all the way up to the multi-state acute care setting.
What does a typical day or week look like for you in this role?
Building relationships and demonstrating the value Trace Medical brings to patients and providers, both clinically and economically – we’re not a financing institution; let us show you how.
3. SUPPORTING PROVIDERS WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY
What’s your favorite part about helping providers implement or scale home dialysis programs?
It has been studied and proven that patients who dialyze at home, on either PD or HHD, experience better clinical outcomes. In chronic disease management, better clinical outcomes mean lower total cost of care. In a resource-constrained environment and with the proliferation of value-based care models, my team is positioned to achieve healthcare’s Triple Aim (better experience, better outcomes, lower cost).
How do you support providers who are new to the provision of dialysis?
The same way we would support any customer – frequent communication, problem solving, and advocacy. The bottom line is that Trace Medical is only successful if customers are successful.
What makes Trace’s approach to dialysis equipment different or better than the alternatives?
Trace offers flexibility. Providers can rent new or certified devices (reminder: Trace works solely with manufacturers / does not source devices from the gray market) on contract term lengths shorter than leasing options and without the up-front cost of buying. Rentals can include maintenance if desired, meaning that providers can focus on patient care, because their device vendor is on top of things
4. RELATIONSHIP BUILDING & REAL IMPACT
What’s one thing providers appreciate most when working with you?
I have a deep operational understanding of dialysis services across fee-for-service care delivery, value-based care models, and payor engagement that customers can lean on. I have built joint venture dialysis centers with 3 of the top 5 payor-sponsored health systems in the US and developed contracting entities that participate in Comprehensive Kidney Care Contracting (CKCC).
What advice would you give a provider considering switching to newer dialysis technology or working with Trace?
While renting devices provides the lowest total cost of device utilization, that’s just the beginning of the Trace Medical advantage. We are advocates for our customers when solving problems, rolling up our sleeves directly and/or making introductions to industry experts
5. A BIT ABOUT YOU
What led you to a career in healthcare support or sales?
Both of my parents built careers in healthcare, and so exposure from an early age made the choice natural. Building partnerships requires operational, financial, and clinical planning, just to name a few, and I enjoy dynamically moving between these competencies to make meaningful progress.
What motivates you most in your work?
I have found intrinsic motivation from getting others excited about what the future can look like and breaking down long/large processes into incremental steps that we can be proud of at the end of each day.
What hobbies/interests do you have outside of work?
A few years ago, I inherited a 1985 Mercedes 300DT. While it is hailed as one of the most reliable automobiles in history, that hasn’t stopped me from needing/wanting to become intimately familiar with keeping it running. Unlike a typical/classic Sunday car, I drive it as much as the weather allows, enjoying the simplicity and style of cars made many years ago.
Meet Christopher Morris, VP of Dialysis Operations
1. Basic Info
Name: Christopher Morris
Job Title: Dialysis, VP of Operations
Territory/Region You Support: National
How long have you been with Trace Medical? 16 months
Years of experience in healthcare/sales/support services: 21 years
2. Your Role at Trace
In a few sentences, how would you describe your role to someone outside the industry?
To bring clinical and operational insight to the Dialysis Division and its provider customers.
What types of providers or facilities do you typically work with?
Owner/Operator Nephrologists, nurses and entrepreneurs looking to make a difference in the dialysis space and foster more and better choices for home dialysis patients.
What does a typical day or week look like for you in this role?
My role is centered more on operations and education. For example, many nephrologists who want greater control of their dialysis business aren’t aware that Trace Medical even exists — let alone that they can expand immediately without the typical capital expenditure for dialysis equipment. That’s where the educational aspect becomes so important: helping providers understand what’s possible and how Trace can remove those traditional barriers to growth.
3. Supporting Providers with Tablo
What’s your favorite part about helping providers implement or scale home dialysis programs?
My favorite part of this work is knowing we’re making a meaningful difference in every community we touch. By supporting providers, we help them bring hope to their patients and restore a sense of normalcy through the option to dialyze at home — something many of these individuals wouldn’t have access to without Trace Medical.
How do you support providers who are new to the provision of dialysis?
My background in nursing gives me a unique perspective. My career progression, from COVID-era dialysis implementation in hospitals, through medical device sales, and now with Trace Medical, allows me to anticipate and address many of the clinical and operational challenges providers face, often before they even arise.
What makes Trace’s approach to dialysis equipment different or better than the alternatives?
Trace Medical isn’t a bank; we’re committed to true partnership — with providers and manufacturers alike. We’re embedding biomedical services directly into our programs to support the rapid expansion we all see coming, and we’re filling a critical gap in the market by offering comprehensive backend support that no one else is delivering right now. Trace has the capital strength to scale and the vision to hire hybrid professionals who bring both business acumen and clinical expertise, creating a level of support that sets us apart in the dialysis space
4. A Bit About You
What led you to a career in healthcare support or sales?
I started my career on a clinical track and worked as an ICU and cardiovascular nurse for several years. As my career progressed, I always knew I wanted a path that would allow me to be a change agent in the healthcare industry. Like so many others during COVID, my opportunity and career direction shifted when I said yes to helping implement a new device called Tablo — a role that required six months of travel to California and time away from my Tennessee home. The real credit for my success and the direction of my career goes to my supportive and loving wife, Tammy.
Fun fact about yourself you’d like to share:
Back in the nineties, so long ago in a faraway land, I was a Nashville songwriter and signed Recording Artist.
What hobbies/interests do you have outside of work?
Some people call them hobbies; I call them passions. In the summer, you can usually find me on a golf course somewhere, soaking up the sunshine. But once the cooler weather rolls in, my focus shifts to my Tennessee Walking horses — “saddle horses,” as we call them. There’s nothing quite like riding through the quiet, remote areas of Tennessee and letting the world slow down for a bit. And then there’s my guitar. I wouldn’t call it a hobby, either. It’s been a constant in my life — more therapy than pastime.
